dot

dot is a groundbreaking comedy that follows nine months in the life of Zectek.com, an internet startup company. A social satire and sly comedy of manners, the movie unfolds through "behind the scenes footage" of the day-to-day life of Zectek featuring interviews with the company's founders and employees. As Zectek rides the e-commerce rollercoaster, the twenty and thirty-somethings that run it, have their lives repeatedly turned inside and out as hopes are born, crushed and born again... and crushed again.

dot has a enjoyed a wildly successful independent film experience taking home a handful of festival awards and receiving nothing but glowing reviews from the press and it's dedicated "cult-like" following. dot is currently airing on the Showtime Networks and is negotiations with other networks to continue it's astonishing run.

"[The] 2002 comic mockumentary about hapless would-be dot-com millionaires is one of the most likable of the genre I've seen in an age. There are some really stupid laughs on hand here. File them somewhere between 'startup.com' and 'The Office.'" -- Ray Pride, New City Chicago

"… a top-notch mockumentary, replete with hilarious dialogue and performances… a thoroughly enjoyable 90 minute ride (and a great counterpart to 2001's noted documentary Startup.com) that contains a good number of laugh-out-loud moments." -- CinemaSpeak

"DOT is a very entertaining film and worth seeing. The filmmakers have succeeded in making a quality film about a phenomenon that touched many people's lives. Whether you owned stock in a dotcom, worked for one, or watched others get caught up in the hype, you'll find something in this film for you." -- The Dog Pile

"Enjoyably deadpan… Fun and freewheeling" -- Entertainment Today

"Does for the high-tech boom what 'This Is Spinal Tap' did for rock and roll -- it exposes the sheer inanity and insanity of it all." -- Telephony Magazine

"The documentary startup.com has earned praise as an accurate and harrowing depiction of the rise and fall of an Internet company. But the parody DOT may actually be more true to life." -- Business 2.0

"… a hilarious mockumentary about the 'New Economy'… It's really worth your time, and I recommend you pick it up." -- Movie Poop Shoot
